Meet the Baby Blue Sister

After the success of our first collaboration with Hand & Lock London - the stunning Bottle Green Top Handle Bag - we couldn’t resist making a “baby sister.” Enter the Baby Blue Hand & Lock bag, a fresh twist on a design we already loved, with its own unique story.

This time, we selected a soft, powdery baby blue leather from A & A Crack, still smooth with that medium temper we love - perfect for holding its shape while showing off Hand & Lock’s gorgeous embroidery.

We were excited to explore a lighter, brighter palette and see how the goldwork and hand embroidery would pop against a soft blue background. The result is playful, elegant, and a little sister to the original green bag - hence the affectionate nickname!

A Handle Hack We Didn’t Expect

Every bag has its challenges, but this one came with a surprise. During the planning stage, we accidentally shared the embroidable area with Hand & Lock a little differently than usual. When the embroidery was completed, it sat a little too high, blocking the usual placement for the top handle.

Rather than compromise the design, we got creative. The solution?

  • We crafted a chunky rolled handle that emerges from the back of the bag.

  • We added elevated leather tabs for the handle to slot into, keeping the bag functional while showcasing the embroidery beautifully.

It was a happy accident that led to a little bit of design innovation - proof that sometimes mistakes can inspire something even more special.

Hand & Lock Meets I Can Make Bags (Again!)

Even though this bag came with a challenge, the collaboration itself stayed just as magical. Hand & Lock’s embroidery once again brought the bag to life, blending machine and handwork with delicate gold accents that shine against the soft blue leather.

And as always, we handled the bagmaking ourselves - cutting, stitching, and shaping each panel by hand to create the structured, timeless silhouette we love.
